I dont know the kind of wind that is blowing on our West African part of the continent. The entertainment industry has been hit again with another death. How sad it is that we are losing our veteran "STARS" so early in life. Just a couple of months ago, we lost a great actor Mr Sam Loco and now another one has to follow.
Nigerian film industry has lost another Nollywood veteran, Mrs Geraldine Ekeocha. The actress died yesterday after a fibroid operation in a hospital in Enugu Nigeria. Geraldine Ekeocha has acted in over 80 Nollywood movies including Heavy storm, tears in Marriage and many more. The news of the death was confirmed by actress Tonto Dikeh.
On a more general note however, what do you think about fibroid and its treatment? As more and more of my mothers, wives and sisters keep succumbing under this unfortunate medical problem, should it not be elevated and given a higher priority in educating and finding better solution?
May you find a resting place in the arms of your beloved Maker.
was terribly sad when i read about her death yesterday. I wonder what exactly could be happening. One thing is clear and that is we will all face death some day.... just wish this world was only full of smiles. sad news indeed. may her soul rest in perfect peace.
ReplyDeletehow can someone die out of fibroid which is benign growth and not malignant or cancerous. Was it the anesthesia failure or what. The most extreme damage fibroid can cause is infertility if not controlled.
ReplyDeleteFibriod is a common among african women in their fertile gae from 30-50yrs.
l think is high time we address our doctors and hospital who small negligence and wrong diagnoses causes us to lose our love ones. This same doctors when migrate abroad perform splendid.
What is going on enough of the saying we are developing, measures have to be put in place to correct all this mishaps.
abena.
Well said Abena, i also believe the death could have occurred from complications during the operation. It could also be a case of fear as many people get problems with their on the operation table as a result of excessive fear. But since its a growth in women, i mean the Fibroid and on our part of the world, the causes have not been known yet, the doctors have to do their best to ensure 98 percent success on such surgeries.
ReplyDeleteDeath is inevitable, but it a shame when one dies on a surgical bed in the hands of a fellow man, what can we say sorry to the hurting family to take heart and not lay blame, but to take it as GOD will the her life rather than to come with kind of agony that will leave her in pain for rest of her life. It very unfortunate to lose a beautiful in an early age like this. MAY HER SOUL HAVE A PERFECT REST AS THE STAR SHE WAS ON EARTH.
